Are the Stories Outside of the Game Bigger Than the Games?

It's been apparent the past few weeks that some of the biggest plays have become the stories outside of the games instead of within the games themselves. Let's just take a look at a few.
  • Brett Favre and Brad Childress
  • LeBron James
  • Randy Moss
  • Kevin Garnett
  • Donovan McNabb
And on and on...

Jay Glazer reports that Favre and Moss have turned the Vikings into a circus. What the hell. If that's the case then the ring master has definitely got to be Brad Childress. Now Kevin Garnett, one of the best trash talkers in the league is accused of saying something about a cancer patient. While Donovan McNabb is being all cool about his benching we know he has to be steaming inside.

My point is let's get back to talking about the games. This week we have the Chiefs vs. the Raiders. One of the biggest rivalries in sports and has been for many years. For the first time in a decade or three these two teams are going to be in a brawl. Bet that! And let's just hope the story line after the game isn't all about Al Davis or Jamarcus Russell.

Really I've personally had enough about how bad Randy Moss is or how much Favre is hurting the Vikings and their chances. And whether or not McNabb can still play more than half of a game is getting old. Mike Shanahan has proven that he doesn't like quarterbacks, just ask Elway. "But both men have conflicted histories and are certainly type-A personalities. While they were only in the locker room together for half a decade (with a break in between), that was certainly enough time to clash in private." says analyst Reid Brooks from the bleacher report.

Let's just get back to the game. It's alot more fun to talk smack around the water fountain on Monday and Tuesday mornings than listen to the trash being blown around the rest of the week. Remember when it was fun to go to work and brag about your teams victory? Or are you the one who stays outside the game and likes the controversy instead of the game?
