Finding the Right Fishing Gear

Having been an avid fisherman for many years, actually since I was a child I am always working on or looking for the best Fishing Gear. When I was a child I will always remember my Granny attempting to teach me how to fish.

Growing up in Kentucky we used to go and cut our own cane poles. You know that when you first cut them they are just a green looking limb and eventually they turn brown or tan. I always found this exciting because we got to go out into the wooded area and just chop some down. I'll also never forget the time when we had moved to Kansas and returned home and on the way back we brought about 50 or 60 cane poles with us. Had them strapped to the top of the station wagon, wow was we country or what?

Today finding the best or most original fishing gear can be tough if you don't know what your looking for. I love to fish, I love to set limb lines and even run nets, but most of all it's the bass and crappie I enjoy fishing for the most.

How about you? What has been your experience with your fishing gear and what do you like to use the most? I use to always prefer a meps spinner and some top water lurers but just put an ole sinker on and golden hook when trying to land that big lunker of a Flathead or Bluecat or channel cat.
