Less than 24 hours ago I was ragging on the Royals and how they seem to have lost stamina in playing the game. You know, I said they were 19 games behind in their division and that at the begining of the season they had a pitcher by the name of Greinke (12-8) who looked like a Cy Young canidate.
Well last night he was back in true form. Did he read my story or what? Oh I whole heartedly doubt it but somebody or something put a fire under his behind. He truly did look fantastic last night by striking out 15 batters for what turns out to be a Royal record for eight innings. Kansas City Royals went on to win and put an end to a 5-game losing streak, a streak that seems all to familiar these days, by beating the Cleveland Indians 6 to 2. I have to say that I thought the ESPN announcer was mistaken as I flipped through the channels last night, on my way to CBS's Big Brother, when he said that Grienke got through the first inning with only ten pitches thrown. Striking out two of those batters and got some defensive help on the other. Well guess he was more than right and Greinke we congratulate you on such a fine performance. His previous high was striking out 12 which he broke at the end of six innings.
