Tyson Inks Deal........Reported to Camp

Tyson Jackson of the Kansas City Chiefs signed on the dotted line Friday after receiving a late night phone call Thursday. And the Chiefs seem to be doing something they are not known for, shelling out the money. In an attempt to build their defense back to the days of DT and Neil Smith, the Chiefs chose Jackson with their first pick, making him the 3rd overall pick of this years draft. The deal reportedly worth a whopping 57 million with 31 mil. guaranteed. Jackson says he did his best to keep up with what the team was doing without him, all the while waiting on that phone call so he could report to camp. And he did. Arriving on the practice field shortly after inking the deal and staying afterwards to work with the defensive line coach Tim Krumrie.

Let's hope that the football God's are looking down and filling a void that has been there since the glory days of the 90's. That's when this years Hall of Fame Inductee Derrick Thomas, was the man to reckon with on the defensive side of the field. When opposing QB's feared one of the most prolific pass rushers of all time, oh the glory days of Marty and his boys. OK enough already but I can't help but feel a glimmer of hope that Jackson with his 6'4" 290+ pound frame can at least put some Quarterbacks down with a fearsome pass rush. He should start opposite of Glenn Dorsey and together with his quickness and Dorsey's strength, just maybe, just maybe......Derrick look down on us Saturday during your induction ceremony and give us your blessing.
