After having been told that they were being timed, Tiger Woods believes that Padraig Harrington had to rush his shots on a par 5 17th hole at the Bridgestone Invitational, causing him to triple bogey.
Woods and Harrington were paired in the final group and apparently were still 17 minutes behind others on the back nine when John Paramor informed them that they were being timed. After it was over Woods told Harrington, "I am sorry that John got in the way of a great battle." Evidently he wasn't suppose to say that as he will have to pay now an undisclosed amount for his remarks. The PGA handbook states that it is an obligation of membership not to comment to the media in any way that unreasonably attacks or disparages tournaments, sponsors, members, players or PGA tour.
Woods went on to win, one of his many victories of a Bridgestone Invitationals. I think not only does he have the money to pay, he also should be able to voice his opinion. But then again that's my opinion. Way to go Tiger. Go ahead and Roar!
