Congrats to Brian Vickers. Holding on with very little fuel left, Vickers pulled it off ahead of Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Jimmy Johnson (who ran out of fuel and finished in 33rd place) to win the race at Michigan International Speedway. His first win of this year and only his second win in NASCAR racing. Obviously Jr. fans were disappointed with the 3rd place finish, but most that were blogging on ESPN said they would take it as improvement for his team.
Historic day for Brian Vickers who holds on by conserving fuel for the win and is now in 12th place. Putting himself in position with only 3 races left before the chase actually begins. His only other win came way back in October of 2006 at the UAW-FORD 500.
