To Vivian Stringer

For a lady who is still struggling to come to terms with her induction into what is being called  the greatest HOF (hall of fame) class ever, I say "Congrats". What an inspiration you are. If you did not listen to her acceptance speech you missed a moment that defines a person, a chance to be inspired, an opportunity to gain a perspective on life and it's challenges. She's the first coach, be it male or female to take 3 different teams to the Final Four. She finished her career at Rutger's, yet she stated that her accomplishments were in large do to the time she spent at Cheyney and Iowa. Vivian compared herself to Sisyphus, the figure in Greek mythology whose punishment was an eternal curse: to push a boulder up a mountain, only to have it roll back down. She has been a powerhouse in women's basketball. She has yet to win a national championship and for her that is her Sisyphus. Helping to take women's basketball to the level it is today she say's that if she never wins that championship she is still at peace. Vivian, your definitely a hall of famer, your speech has and will inspire many. Thank you for your level of professionalism.
