Finally Derrick Thomas will be recognized as what he was. A Hall of Famer. This Saturday He will be inducted into the hall of fame along with other NFL greats. But Thomas was a force on and off the field. He was the ultimate sack attack, and if not for his untimely death may have went on to lead his Profession in that category. Derrick had an NFL record 7 sacks in one game. A record that still stands.
Derrick was born in January 1967 in Miami, Florida....Died February 8th, 2000 at the age of 33
He had many accomplishments on and off the field. Nine years after his untimely death, His Derrick Thomas Third and Long Foundation is continuing to benefit children living in disadvantage situations. Also he is the only NFL player to ever have a school named after him. The Derrick Thomas Academy which specializes in education inner-city youths.
